Module Code:HTSC H3025
ECTS credits: 5
NFQ Level:7
Module Delivered in 4 programme(s)
Module Contributor:Jane McCorkell
Module Description:The module shall provide learners with a practical knowledge of the technologies, equipment and process involved in constructing the soft element of landscape. This will include soil and landform management; plant selection and specification; principles of landscape design; elements of landscape construction; water features; and history of the designed landscape.
Course Extra Information Expected that learners have experience of the following; Landscape construction, Autocad for Landscape, Soil Science, Plant Identification & Classification
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to
  1. Manage soil operations for soft landscape development, and the planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, bedding and other plants.
  2. Select, specify and prepare the relevant plants for the planting process.
